Art & Illustration

Hello! I’m Dana

A dabbler by nature, I love experimenting with new mediums and styles—creative play is my favorite way to ruminate, reassemble and make sense of the stories that are hard to tell. In my work, I try to make space for grief, complexity and effervescent joy.

Portraits

With graphite, watercolor and colored pencil, let me depict the people you love in my storybook style.

After learning a bit about what you want to capture in the piece, I work with references to sketch a draft for you to review. Once the sketch is finalized with, your input, I bring the subject to life with color.

Fine Art: Life Lines

Though we lay time out in linear fashion with our history and calendars, to me it feels much more circular and layered. Like a braided river, its path and current don’t feel constant.

In these paintings and poems, I let myself meander and muse without knowing what would emerge. It turns out I spent quite a bit of time considering the seasons and the
natural environment.
